In Patna, two headmasters and a middleman were arrested on Saturday for their alleged involvement in the recruitment of fake teachers in Samastipur. The arrests followed an investigation conducted by a four-member committee appointed by Samastipur DM Yogendra Singh. The individuals taken into custody are Dilip Ram of Purushottampur Primary School, Avinash Kumar Tandon of Navtolia Primary School, and middleman Parvez Alam. They were apprehended in the Town police station area. An official source reported a significant fraud at Navtolia Primary School.

After the discovery of the fake recruitment, multiple teachers are now under scrutiny, and 12 are said to be on the run. The police clarified that fake teachers were appointed instead of genuine candidates selected through the BPSC, due to manipulation during counselling sessions.

The DM stated, "Complaints were received regarding fake appointments in the BPSC TRE-2.0. After the successful candidates list was released by BPSC and their documents were verified, biometric data of the candidates was collected. However, individuals in the education department involved in the process illicitly appointed fake teachers using the roll numbers and candidate IDs of the selected BPSC candidates who did not take up the positions."

On September 7, a four-member committee was established to investigate the matter further. Based on their findings, the headmasters and a middleman were taken into custody. An individual named Ranjana Kumari at Purushottam Primary School was identified as a fake teacher. The appointments of teachers Nikhat Parveen and Tanuja Kumari at the same school are also currently under investigation. The fraudulent appointments were initially discovered at Purushottam Primary School, according to an official from the Town police station.
